Breaking Away

I had never seen the 1979 movie Breaking Away before tonight, but I must now add it to the list of my favorite movies for two reasons...

First, it's an Oscar-winning coming-of-age drama about Dave Stohler (Dennis Christopher) who dreams of becoming a champion bicyclist while trying to mask his working-class roots, and culminates in a race where he gets a chance to leave his past behind.

Second, it features the Cinzano cycling team from Italy. Despite the fact that the Cinzano team cheats in the film (boooo!), Cinzano Rosso sweet vermouth happens to be the only vermouth I would ever consider using in my absolute favorite cocktail... the Negroni (yaaaay!)

If you haven't seen the film, check it out.
